Free Mindfulness Workout.
Most people will come up with “being in the here and now” or “being present” when they think about what mindfulness is.
And they are right! Mindfulness is bringing your full atttention to the present moment.
However that doesn’t mean that we cannot reflect upon things. It’s actually a healthy thing to do!
It’s good to take time to plan something, have a good think about something, when you decide when you want to do that. (Middle of the night is usually not a good time!)
Reflecting is not the same as overthinking, worrying or ruminating. If thinking makes you feel bad, that’s probably where you go wrong.
 
This week try to take a moment every day, to reflect upon a situation that happened that day or something you just want to have a good think about. You can ask yourself questions. What went well, what made it happen, how could things have worked out better etc etc.
Try to take one thing out of it, that you would like to improve on, and make that your goal for the next day, or the next time. And remember to be kind to yourself!

It’s Grateful in April again!
It’s also the last week of the Creative Mindfulness on Tuesday, pm if you want to tag along or want to sign up for the May clasess!
 
At last!! I have a Mindfulness for Kids (preteens) in the holidays! Sign up quick as this will fill up fast 🙂
 
This week start and end every day by reminding yourself of three things you are grateful for. Doesn’t have to be big things! On a bad day you can just be thankful for being able to get out of bed 🙂

Workout starts here ⏩ A kind heart is a happy and healthy heart!
 
Did you know it was scientifically proven that your heart gets strengthened by kindness!!
That is because there is a nerve connecting your brain with your heart that gets stronger as you practice kindfulness, which is another word for mindfulnuess 🙂 Amazing right??
 
So this week, try to be more kind to yourself in your selftalk and in what you are going to do or are not going to do.
And try to look out for opportunities to be kind to others as well.
If you are a natural at looking after others, which I know a lot of you are, skip the second part of this weeks’ workout and focus a bit more on looking out for what you can say or do to be more kind to yourself! You deserve it!

Friends really are family!

☀️🌷🌷☀️ FREE MINDFULNESS WORKOUT ☀️🌷🌷☀️
 
Mindfulness helps in making friends with ourselves. It also makes you aware of how connected you are to others and to the world around you.
Did you know that best friends often look like each other, have similare beliefs, values and temperaments? It goes even further than that! Apparently you share about 1 percent of their genes, similar to you and your nephew or niece!! So friends really are family!
 
In busy times however, these very close friends might be overlooked more easily than others. As we know they will understand, and be there for us always. This week I want you to reach out to those friends you haven’t seen or spoken for too long. Make an effort and try to connect with three of them this week. I will too!
 
My 8-Week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction starts Thursday, I have a few spots left. I’m also doing a fun talk/workshop at the Peninsula Preschool tonight, looking forward to both!! Ask me anytime if you would like me to come to your workplace too!

Being thankful.

Just read this really nice article in The Greater Good about being thankful.

It states that research has shown that you are more inclined to be thankful if you believe the other person had a choice in helping you out, or not helping you out.

In building Easy Now Mindfulness I have to be asking a lot of favours of people that I know and people I don’t know that well. And I do feel the grattitude when they are helping me out!

Thanks to the kindness of others, I have seen my flyers up around town, I have seen my training advertised in local news letters, in the weekly letters of schools and community centres, and it feels great.

Because I know that mindfulness is such a helpful tool for everebody to use in their daily life, I want this knowledge to be out there in my community and the greater Wellington region.

So thank you all my helpers!
