stress
Good morning and welcome to another week, and another little mindfulness workout!
Tomorrow CREATIVE MINDFULNESS starts, 7.30-9pm in Tawa, let me know if you want to join to learn and practice mindfulness AND work on your creative projects in a friendly and down to earth class.
Crocheters, knitters, colourers etc all welcome!!

>>>workout starts here<<<

Mindfulness is training your attention to be in the here and now, with an open and curious attitude, non judging of what is here.
Often we get stressed, by situations, by ourselves, by others. Mindfulness will not make stress never happen again, but it can help in managing stress, by doing just that: notice you get stressed!!
We can rage for some time, before we even notice what is actually going on with us. So that first step is the most important: notice that you are stressing out, looking at yourself.
Than be mindful of where in your body you feel stress, and just observe that. I find you are all clever people and usually once you learn to recognise the moment you are stressing out, and bringing your attention to your body, your feelings and what is going on in your mind, will give you a lightbulb moment as to what is going to be your next step. You can do this!

So no running away from stress, not beating yourself up about being stressed, just becoming aware of it is the way to move onwards. By practicing this, you will notice when you are being stressed much sooner, or you might even notice you are about to get stressed, and that is just great!!

Try it for a week and let me know if this is helpful,
have a great week,
M

Unhelpful thinking, weekly mindfulness workout.

How time flies when you’re busy! Here’s another
<<<><><>>>Free Weekly Mindfulness Workout <<<><><>>>

This week builds upon last week’s workout. If you’re not feeling the way you want to feel, first you can calm yourself down by focussing on your breathing.
The next step you can take, is to notice your thinking. Often what we feel, is caused by what we think. When you learn to be more mindful of your thoughts, you will discover the thoughts and regular patterns of thinking that cause unwanted emotions. For example thoughts that start with “I should” of “I should not” give you stress. Or you might have other unhelpful thoughts.

So this week, try to get some insight in your unhelpful thoughts and thought patterns.

It is important to realise that when things happen, emotions will happen too. It’s normal to feel upset when sad things happen! That’s when you need comforting.

Have a great week!

Like the picture? Lovely gift from a friend! Who are you going to spoil this week?

And another Monday

Good morning!! Here is another FREE Weekly Mindfulness workout!

Mindfulness is training yourself to be more aware and focussed in the here and now. This present moment is the only moment you actually really have! Too often we are not in the here and now. Our body is already here, but our mind is wandering.
So here’s an easy and fun way to get you focussed in the present. You can also do this with your children.
Practice this a few times a day. When you are waiting for example, or when you are bored or even annoyed. Or just set your timer on your phone to remind you.
You’re going to ask yourself to:
Spot 5 different colours,
Look for 4 thing that you like,
Notice 3 things that are moving,
Find 2 things you can hear,
Take 1 deep breath.

Have a great week!

It’s February 29!!

Another free weekly mindfulness workout!

A bodyscan is a great way to meditate and relax. You can make it as long or short as you like. It can help distract your mind from your worries and make you more aware of what is going on in your body. We don’t usually take time to scan our bodies!
Start with 3 deep breaths, and focus first on your feet, and than focus on the different parts of your body. Your legs, your belly, your chest, your arms, hands, neck and shouders and head. You can make it longer by adding your face, mouth and eyes for example. Or do your left and right side separately.
This can be energising or it can make you fall asleep. Try and find out how this can be useful to you!

Have a great week!

Weekly Mindfulness Workout

Hi all, here is your Weekly Mindfulness Workout.
The holidays are over, we are still enjoying glorious days in Wellington, but I guess all is back to normal for all. It is easy to get lost in the daily grind, and not be living your life as fulfilling as you woud wish for.
That is why this week we’re going to keep an eye out for anything that excites us and makes us enthusiastic. If you spot this feeling, give it your full attention, notice where in your body you can feel it and take a couple of deep breaths to really feel the excitement and enthousiasm grow. Even if it is just a little thing or activity that gives a little spark of excitement, just give it all your attention. It can be something you see or hear maybe. If you find it hard to find anything at all, think about what you could do this week that might be exciting. Or think back about what has excited you before, that you could do again? Maybe as a child? And remember, this is about you, living a happy life, not about what others think about you.

Managing thoughts, Weekly Mindfulness Workout

Hi all, Weekly Mindfulness Workout this week is just something to keep in the back of your mind this week. Your mind can be full of all sorts of thoughts, popping up one after the other. Remember that your thoughts are just a couple of words your brain is producing and you do not have to take them all so serious! Notice how often thoughts that pop up are useless this week and you decide if they are! Have a great week!

Petone Classes and more

This week I confirmed the mindfulness for busy parents classes at the Petone Comunity House as well as the Mindful doodle & colouring workshop. Very excited about new locations and working together with the local community centres!

Next schoolterm the 8-week training has been confirmed to start at the Norhtland Memorial centre for a second time. Lower Hutt and Linden still have to be confirmed but I’m optimistic about sorting this out the coming week.

I had a day a the Tawa Community Market and had some interest in flyers for all my classes which is great too.

Working at the moment on Mindfulness for seniors and extending even more in the corporate market, building my Easy Now Empire as my children call it 🙂

Monday again!

August is flying by just like that! And Monday again, so time for another Easy Now Mindfulness Weekly workout!
This week is about acceptance which is a cornerstone of miindfulness. A lot of things happen during the day on which we have no influence at all. And most of us are inclined to change it, to solve it, to hate it and to fight it.
How about this week you’re going to be on the look out for the things that happen that you cannot change. They have happened already and that is just the way it is.
Now instead of giving it lots of thoughts, all you do is tell yourself that is happened, and you might not like it, but can you accept it and live with it? Yes you can! If you have trouble winding down, it might help to give yourself some time to focus on your breathing until your body and mind have calmed down.
Let me know how your week goes!!

New Weekly Mindfulness Workout

This week’s ‪#‎easynowmindfulnessweeklyworkout‬ is not going to be easy!

Mindfulness is about learning to sit back and to notice what’s going on in your mind. And this week’s challenge is to take a few minutes every day to do just that. Become that fly on the wall in your mind, having a good view of whatever thoughts are popping up. And that’s all!
No going into these thoughts and not pushing them away either.
Have a good week and love to know how the challenge is going for you this week!
