Last week we talked about, and practiced, mindful eating at the Creative Mindfulness class. One of the things that came up, is that mindful eating is about keeping the joy in eating, and eat with your full attention, making wise choices about what to eat. Deciding on foodoptions the same way you spend your money wisely.
A great way to do that is to have a lunchdate with yourself. And we are so extremely lucky in Wellington to have so many great food trucks, that this is such a fun exercise too!!
So this week, go on that lunch date!!
Pick something your really like, (maybe a smaller portion of something that is a bit more expensive than your usual lunch), find a nice spot to sit outside, and eat with your full attention. Taking in how it looks, how it feels, how it smells, and how it tasts.
Show me your lunches ok??!!

✨✨✨ FREE MINDFULNESS WORKOUT ✨✨✨
Did you know your brain is wired to focus on negative things and to quickly forget about positive things? Because that’s what helping for survival!
However that makes us easily forget all the good things we do.
If you want to feel more postive about yourself, you need to train your brain to focus on the things that are good about you. This might feel a bit uneasy at first, but you will get good at it, really quickly!
So this week, every day, take a moment to pause and think about what was good about you so far today. And when you think about it, also bring back all the sensations about it. The sounds, the smells, what did you see, how did it feel. That is important to really make the change.
Have a great week!
ps I hope the people that planned to plant persil all around the Wellington Station, feel really good about themselves. Because I love it! Did you know??
I have made some changes to my schedule. And I’m happy to let you know that I will be hosting a Coloring and Zendoodle for adults koha group every month at my local community centre in Tawa!!
It’s one of my giving back to community 2016 goals. Hope you pop in, first meeting is Sunday 21 February, 10-12 am.
Looking forward to see you there,
Not all mums are in the situation to buy all the things their children wish for. So when I saw the message on facebook about the Womens Refuge Porirua desperate for presents for the teens for the Christmas Party, they are having today, I drove to KMart and picked up the lot. I met an awesome famiIy in the longest line for check up ever, who helped me get it all to my car. People are good!
At the refuge I got greeted by some lovely women giving their time, sorting and wrapping and making miracles happen, for the mums that got away, rescued themselves and their children and are now set for a better life in 2016.
And I thank them for letting me help, and feel good about Christmas.
Happy Christmas holidays everyone!
